A full kitchen remodel in Bentonville, Arkansas
Project Description
This kitchen remodel in Bentonville involved a full transformation of an existing kitchen — new custom cabinetry throughout, a large marble waterfall island with matte black faucet and undermount sink, brass pendant lighting above the island, stainless steel range hood, and a built-in wine rack and open shelving unit around the sub-zero refrigerator. The polished concrete floors were retained and refinished as part of the scope — a distinctive feature that anchors the warm timber and marble palette throughout the space.
All cabinetry was custom built and installed by the Astoria Builders team. Countertops were templated, fabricated, and fitted on site. Electrical for pendant lighting and under-cabinet circuits was included in the contract scope.
No subcontractors. One team, one contract, one point of contact from demo to final clean.
Challenge: Installing a Full Marble Waterfall Island. A marble waterfall countertop of this size — covering the full island top and both sides floor to ceiling — is one of the most technically demanding countertop installations in residential construction. The weight, the seaming, and the alignment of the stone veining across three faces all had to be precise.
Solution: We templated the island twice before fabrication to account for floor level variation across the polished concrete. Seams were positioned and aligned so the veining flows continuously across the waterfall edge on both sides.
Challenge: Coordinating Multiple Trades Under One Contract. This kitchen involved cabinetry, countertops, electrical, plumbing, and lighting — all needing to be sequenced correctly so no trade was waiting on another and no finished surface was damaged by subsequent work.
Solution: Every trade was scheduled and managed internally by the Astoria Builders team. No subcontractor coordination required from the homeowner. One point of contact, one schedule, one accountability.
Challenge: Built-In Appliance Integration. The sub-zero refrigerator and professional range required precise cabinet openings with zero tolerance for error — too tight and the appliances don't fit, too loose and the surround looks cheap.
Solution: Appliance specs were confirmed before cabinet fabrication began. Openings were built to manufacturer tolerances and tested with the appliances before final cabinet finishing was applied.
"The kitchen is exactly what we wanted. The cabinetry, the marble island, the lighting — every detail was handled professionally and the finish quality is outstanding."
